Carson City Airport has landed a federal grant of nearly $1.4 million, Nevada Sen. Harry Reid announced Tuesday.
The money is among 10 grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation for rural airports in the Silver State. Carson City Airport's share amounts to $1,387,500.
“This is wonderful for Nevada’s rural airports,” said Reid of the $5,873,649 that will go to Nevada's rural airports. “This money will allow the various airports throughout our state to upgrade facilities and make numerous improvements to their runways, parking aprons, and other airfield safety equipment. It is imperative that we continue to invest in infrastructure in Nevada, and we must always make safety a top priority for our aviation community.”
