As wind and rain blows into the Carson City region this afternoon, matters of commuting from Reno to Carson City may be difficult. A high wind warning is in effect today through the Washoe Valley. Open with no controls between Junction US 395 Business and State Route 529-North Carson Street and 2 miles north of Junction US 395 Business and State Route 529-North Carson Street; high wind warning - trucks/buses/trailers/RVs prohibited and open with no controls between 2 miles north of Junction US 395 Business and State Route 529-North Carson Street and Junction State Route 429-Bowers Mansion Road; open with no controls between Junction State Route 429-Bowers Mansion Road and Junction State Routes 341 and 431 Exit 56.

According to NDOT and www.carsonweather.com the forecast through 10 p.m. in Carson City: Skies will be overcast becoming mostly cloudy. Visibility will be 10 miles. Scattered light snow will be ending. Winds will be 16 mph gusting to 35 mph from the west changing to 5 mph gusting to 22 mph from the west-northwest. Temperatures will range from 40 to 46 F decreasing to 32 to 36 F.
