RENO – For the Carson High baseball team, the heat is on. But to CHS coach Cody Farnworth, the heat is always on.
"It's on every week," said Farnworth after his team was swept in a doubleheader on Saturday at Galena, losing the opener 10-1 and the nightcap 8-5. "It doesn't change."
But CHS (4-8) has fallen to 3-6 in the Sierra League and it figures that next week's series against Damonte Ranch will go a long way to determine if the Senators have a chance to qualify for the Northern 4A playoffs. Damonte figures to be one of the teams that CHS will be battling for a playoff spot, so it also figures that it's imperative that the Senators take at least two out of three from the Mustangs.
