CHS picks up big Sierra League win

RENO – Elayna Shine had her "Hamlet" moment. For Shine it was "shoot or not to shoot."
With the Carson High girls basketball team clinging to a 49-48 lead, a wide open Shine took a moment to decide if she wanted to take the three-point shot with about 1 minute, 40 seconds left in the game. After thinking about it briefly, Shine nailed the three to give CHS a 52-48 lead and Carson went on to pick up a big Sierra League win, 56-52, at Manogue on Tuesday.

Carson (14-8) improved to 6-3 in league with the win. CHS also received a huge contribution from Yvonne Hollett before Hollett rolled her right ankle when she landed awkwardly after making an off-balance runner with 7:50 left in the game. Hollett was unable to return after injuring her ankle.
