The Northern Nevada Special Olympics program will support training and competition for 97 new bowlers this year and wants all area bowlers to participate in a fundraiser.
The "Bowl for the Gold" community fundraiser will take place on Friday, Nov. 12 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno. Sign-in begins at 5 p.m. Bowling begins at 6 p.m. This is the inaugural "Bowl for the Gold” event in Reno. A “Bowl for the Gold” event has been hosted for three consecutive years in Las Vegas to support southern Nevada bowlers.
Anyone is welcome to register for the event; for $150, a team of four will enjoy three games of bowling (with shoe/ball rental included), food and beverages and be eligible for great prizes. The event is fun for the whole family and will help Special Olympics Nevada serve the community in your area.
The Bowl for the Gold will take place on the eve of the two-day Northern Nevada Special Olympics Bowling Competition also to be held at the National Bowling Stadium. Their season culminates with competition at the National Bowling Stadium on Nov. 13-14.
The cost of the new athletes to the program is well over $5,000 and to help generate the funds, Special Olympics Nevada is launching a fundraiser.
